!!
God there was so much to love about this ep, I don't know where to start! Ok, so let's jump in with BATES!!! Yep, this is probably going to be CAPSLOCK torture *g*
He just looked so sweet, and rather attractive too. And what are the chances of a Stargate franchise episode ever bringing back a secondary character, as if the whole universe is joined up, and people don't mysteriously fade from the face of the earth and stuff?
Talking of which, I loved them bringing Dr Lee from his holiday. They played him some for laughs, and yet at the same time, allowed him to be a real person and contribute intelligently. It was almost like a real person instead of a 2-D cutout. This Alan McCullough writer chap is good; and he also wrote Tabula Rosa, which I liked.
Next, time to get the bitchy comment out of the way. The ex-wife was quite pretty, but had bad hair, and that is terminal in my book. Mind you, I notice how few of the women on SGA have nice hair - it's as if they only have one good hairdresser on set and they save him/her for the leads. But I suppose she had some redeeming features to make up for it, in that her and John seemed to finish on better terms than they started, despite him hardly saying a word; he did do special JF w00bie looks though, and that would have worked on me.
Shallow stuff (the hair stuff wasn't shallow - *tsk*) - Ronon on Earth? Looked like the hottest thing I have ever laid eyes on, in the sexy top with the sexy everything. John also, in a suit; made of hot. He looked louche and tired, yet so w00by and sweet, and when he buttoned his jacket up as he approached his father's coffin, I thought I might shed a tear. Ditto when I saw Ronon hanging around outside keeping an eye on him.
Oh god, so many things to comment on in this episode, but the DB just came back from a business trip, so I ought to go and be loving, so I will just say two things:
1. Everyone thought that John had brought his boyfriend to the funeral
2. But Rodney was the one that got to do the awkward trying to talk about feelings moment, and exchanging the longest w00biest look with John EVAH.
Word of the show - W00B.
